The Matecumbe Hisotrical Trust will show a video of seven of the survivors who came together to share their stories. Of the September 2 , 1935 hurricaneand their survival. the interview was done by the Matecumbe Historical Trust on the 75th anniversay of the hurricane.
It's a rare oppertunity to hear Norma Parker, Charles Pellicer. Alma Pinder Dalton, Laurette Pinder Russell,
Everett Albury,and Charlie Roberts speak about the disaster of the 1935 Hurricane that took over 500 lives.
The hurricane monument was built in Islamorada dedicated in November of 1937 to honor the locals and veterans who lost their lives.
