It took Aerosmith an awfully long time to get back to the studio for this year’s ‘Music from Another Dimension‘ LP — and according to recent comments from guitarist Joe Perry, it sounds like they aren’t in any hurry to return.
“We knew we had another record in us, despite what many said,” Perry told Noisecreep (via Classic Rock Magazine). But he has no such faith in future recording projects, however. “I make no bones about it: I don’t know if we’re going to make another record.”
That doesn’t mean Perry didn’t enjoy himself during the ‘Dimension’ sessions. Far from it, in fact. Discussing the way the record came together with producer Jack Douglas following an aborted attempt with Brendan O’Brien, Perry explained that O’Brien “just didn’t fit us.” As he put it, “He’d say to me, ‘What have you got?’ I’d play a little bit and he’d ask, ‘What’s the title, what’s the chorus, where does it go?’ If I couldn’t answer then it would be killed. But Jack, who’s like a member of the band, he could say, ‘Hey, that bit is cool – it goes with that other part and it fits with this riff.’”
More than anything, it sounds like Perry believes ‘Music from Another Dimension’ represents a high note worth going out on for Aerosmith. “I really didn’t like ‘Done With Mirrors.’ I really didn’t like ‘Just Push Play,’” he shrugged. “There are other records I think were good for their time, like ‘Toys in the Attic’ and ‘Rocks.’ I still listen to those, and I put this one in that category — a record I will continue to listen to a lot. I can’t get enough of this one.”

Hi. I'm Bill Hoebee and if nothing else, our show is ORIGINAL. If you have nothing better to, do listen in the morning...it's kind of like a train wreck for your ears and mind. My hobbies include identifying shiny objects, short walks on the beach, drinking, and keeping my 14 year relationship with my imaginary girlfriend alive. My favorite movies are "Spinal Tap" and any movie that begins with the words, "Ernest Goes to..." I mostly eat grape ice-pops and pie. I love my family, friends, watching t.v., and most of all...being a giant smart-ass for pay.
Look out, you rock and rollers. I'm Loretta (that's Miss Loretta to you), a.k.a. The Big Punisher. My mission: to start your afternoon off right, keep from killing Hoebee, and enjoy the beauty of the Florida Keys. I was born in Brooklyn, NY, raised in Jersey, and checked out every state but Hawaii. My favorite movie is "Kingpin", I like travelling, laughing, working out, music(duh), hanging with my friends, movies, and driving my cab!(I'm a full time cab driver for Friendly Cab, part time radio personality) . I love my little dog "Scrunchy", and he loves treats!
