Florida Keys Green Living & Energy Education Launches Upper Keys Lecture Series
KEY LARGO -- Responding to an increasing interest in sustainability by residents and businesses in the Keys, the nonprofit organization GLEE (Green Living and Energy Education) will launch a sustainability lecture series in the Upper Keys starting on February 4, 2009.
The six sustainability lectures will show Upper Keys residents and businesses how to improve their lives, cut their living and business costs and save the environment through efficiency, conservation, and renewable technology.
The free monthly lectures will be held in the Key Largo Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month and will run for one hour. The February lecture, entitled 'Reduce Your Energy Bill Today," will be presented by Shawn Mulholland, Member Services Supervisor, and T.J. Patterson, Member Services Representative in Marathon, of the Florida Keys Electric Cooperative.
After the lecture and a question-and-answer session, free “green” door prizes will be given away to introduce lecture-goers to green products and help them get started going green.
Key Largo Public Library is located between KMart and Publix in the Tradewinds Shopping Center at Mile Marker 101, on the ocean side.
